Thoughtful, hands-on Home Help that supports independence and brightens everyday life.
All of our services are provided under the Michigan Medicaid Home Help Program by trained, CHAMPS-enrolled caregivers. For eligible clients, these supports come at no out-of-pocket cost — delivered with the dignity and warmth your loved one deserves.
Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
Hands-on help with everyday personal care. The Home Help Program may pay for assistance with any of the following.
Bathing
Respectful help with bathing and showering so clients stay clean, fresh, and comfortable.
Dressing
Assistance getting dressed and undressed with comfort, ease, and dignity.
Grooming
Help with grooming, hair, and personal appearance so clients look and feel their best.
Moving Throughout the Home
Steady, watchful support moving safely from room to room and around the home.
Transferring Positions
Safe transfers from one position to another — between bed, chair, and wheelchair.
Using the Toilet
Discreet, dignified assistance with toileting needs that always protects privacy.
Complex Care
Specialized, nurse-supervised care for clients with more advanced medical needs.
When authorized and overseen by a registered nurse, the Home Help Program may also cover complex care tasks, including:
- Catheters
- Leg bags
- Colostomy care
- Bowel program
- Suctioning
- Specialized skin care
- Range of motion exercises
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Wound care
- Respiratory skin care
- Ventilators
- Injections
Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL)
Everyday household and errand support that helps clients stay independent at home.
Good to know: IADL services are available only to clients who already qualify for at least one ADL service listed above.
Administering or Setting Up Medicine
Setting up and reminding clients to take their medicine safely and on time.
Laundry
Washing, drying, and folding clothes and linens so the home stays fresh.
Light Housework
Light cleaning and tidying that keep the home safe, pleasant, and hazard-free.
Meal Preparation & Clean-Up
Preparing wholesome meals to personal tastes and cleaning up afterward.
Shopping for Essential Items
Shopping for groceries and the essential household items clients rely on.
Travel for Shopping & Laundry
Transportation for shopping trips and laundry so essential errands get done.
Eligibility
Who We Serve
Home Help is available to Michigan Medicaid beneficiaries who need help with daily activities to remain safely at home.
Elderly Adults
Seniors who need a helping hand with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, or household tasks to continue living independently and safely at home.
- Enrolled in Michigan Medicaid
- Need help with activities of daily living
- Wish to remain in their own home
Adults with Disabilities
Adults living with physical or developmental disabilities who require ongoing support with personal care and daily routines to live with dignity and independence.
- Functional need assessed by MDHHS
- Personalized care plan and authorized hours
- Care delivered on a flexible schedule
